Festa Karaoke Bar

Festa Wine & Cocktail Lounge is a karaoke bar in the SF Japantown mall (map). There’s another karaoke bar just a few doors down in the same mall, called Club Mari’s/Mogura.

This karaoke bar has a stage where two people can sing. Actually, you can have more people, but there’s just two mics. Each song costs $2, and it’s cash only. The bar itself isn’t cash only, though, it’s just for requesting a song. Songs are requested by looking through a book, writing down the number of the song on a slip of paper, and handing that slip and $2 to the bartender.

Two of my friends singing Blink 182’s “What’s my age again?”
You’ve got two mic stands and two TVs (one not shown here) displaying lyrics.

There’s both table seating and bar seating.

Some of my friends sitting at a table. I’ve censored their faces, but they know who they are… On the table is some beer, hot sake, and the book of karaoke songs. In the middle of a table is a blue container with slips of paper for writing down songs.

Notes

I remember seeing this place a lot when I was a kid going to Japantown, and now I’m finally old enough to go here.

I’ve been here, like, two times now. It’s a pretty fun place, and they have a decent selection of songs. In fact, I was surprised they had Quad City DJ’s “Space Jam”. You better believe I sang it (and thanks, Leo, for singing it with me!), but I’m pretty sure we’re the only ones to have ever sang that song there. I think maybe one other person recognized the song. And also, it’s a long song.
