Places I like
- Payn’s Stationery in Berkeley (1791 Solano) is pretty good. Got blotter paper and a blotter paper holder there. Generally more affordable for coin envelopes than PatCo.
- Patrick & Company (map) in SF. Fairly good selection of office supplies, folders, envelopes (business and personal), and paper.
- Kelly Spicers (previously Kelly Paper) has all kinds of paper, and you can try different types. This is how I got paper for making postcards. First heard about them through my dad.
- Elmwood Stationers in Berkeley is a smaller store, but cute.
- Maido in Japantown has a bunch of writing instruments and inks.
- Maruzen/Junkudo in Osaka had a bunch of fine pens
- Flax Art has envelopes and pens (see pens).
- Paper Source is a decent chain. More personal paper than Kelly Spicers which is like paper for business.
- Target has cheap and decent manila folders.
- Office Depot is all right.
