Voting is important. It’s been said that in a democracy people get the government they deserve. People aren’t just voters, they’re stakeholders in their own society. It’s up to us to be more informed, involved, communicative, and accountable in the way we vote.
At some point, I should include my own voting record to hold myself accountable. We talk about holding representatives accountable, but how can we do so if we can’t even hold ourselves accountable? Have the things I’ve voted for turned out to be good or bad? If I don’t remember, how will I learn to improve my own voting? Anyway, I’ll try to add that at some point.
